Hi all have just purchased this ITOH intersectional peony supposedly 2lt grown pot but the compost was just dry and loose in the pot so just wondered if you have any tips for planting as the compost will just fall away when I remove it from the pot, I have just firmed it in and watered it. Many thanks

I'd do one of two things:
either plant it into its garden spot immediately and water well for several weeks [make sure the tuber is just under the surface of the soil]
or leave it in the pot and keep watered for the next month/or even 2 if there are flower buds then plant out.
