I have a thin tall flowering cherry blossom tree that is getting too tall. It has about four branches all pointing vertically Is it Ok to prune them down by around 3 feet and if so should I do this now May/June or winter. It has just finished flowering.

If it is getting to tall then yes you can cut the branches shorter. Now would be ideal as it has finished flowering. You may find that new shoots grow off these though and that will change the overall shape of the tree.
