Hi, I came across this yellow flower yesterday growing wild. It has a wonderful sweet smell. Does anyone know what it might be? Thanks.

I believe it is Cytisus, there are several varieties. As Hywel says, they usually flower in Spring.

You get great wafts of the aroma of this plant driving on motorways through France, it's very fragrant.

It looks like Broom but that usually flowers in the spring/early summer ...
