Thanks for the info, I have been digging them up, I thought the leaves looked like a Geum, I have now read up on them now & see that you can use the roots & leaves in cooking, it was interesting reading but I will try & dig them out as flower spurs will get in my Shih tzu's hair.

Have you tried cooking them Lady E? I have lots too, well overdue for hoiking out. I just looked it up and there are several ideas on Google - might have a go myself.

Geum urbanum. Wood avens. A seed thug of the worst kind. Get them out before the seed drops.
