Well, it's certainly too late now - it's time to plant them! I think it really depends on your soil - if it's light and free draining, and the temps in your area don't get too low, they should be fine left in the ground. It's sitting in wet soil that rots them.

I agree I leave mine in all year round. I plant the corms/bulbs on grit too.
