Good afternoon...My daughter who is very new to gardening has a weeping Crab Apple tree which she is very proud of. It needs a bit of a tidy up. She would like to leave the weeping branches obviously, but says there are some straight ones growing upwards. HELP what does she do with these cut them off ?? leave them ??.
Thanks for your interest

I have seen people add light weights to draw the branches down and once the 'wood' has hardened the weights are removed.

worth a try before cutting them off. This could be how the tree was 'formed' originally.

There are some genuine weeping crabs. This is the link to the RHS site
