This website has various options:

https://www.homesandgardens.com/gardens/how-to-kill-red-ants

They say the White Vinegar option is not harmful to the ground or plants.

We have problems with red ants around the garden each year.

Aside from disturbing a picnic what kind of problem are they causing?

Thank you very much for the white vinegar suggestion. The main problem is that they are making ant hills which seem to have made the grass yellow and if the ant hills get wet it makes quite a mess if you tread on them and you can’t just brush the soil off

Thank you for reply!

advice that I have seen is to brush the loose soil off when the ground is dry. The ants tend to move nests regularly.

How do I say thanks?
