the flower bud and petal configuration look right though. The leaf shape possibly, difficult to tell with the variegation.

why are you suspicious?

Because P. inodorus is rarely sold and not variegated like this one.
Asked the person who wanted the id about the scent and neither he, nor the plant owner, could discern any scent, which is very odd.

according to the RHS this one is highly scented so although it looks right. the scent is wrong.
