Hi All. I noticed a Peanut Shell sticking up in the air with stems underneath so peeled the shell off carefully and could see leaves, how do I look after it, it is in a pot with a bigger plant, will it survive outside?
NOW to make you laugh :o))
Years ago when I was a lot younger I grew a Peanut in a greenhouse, I had a dream it was a lot bigger & decided in my dream to dig it up & found......wait for it..........found there was Peanut Butter underneath LOL

Agree. I tried one in a pot but nothing much came of it, though I seem to remember it did produce a small yellow flower but I might be imagining that as it was a long time ago. What they are supposed to do is when the flower is fertilised they bend the stem down and bury it, much as a cyclamen does.

Thanks for the replies, I'll just leave it be in the pot outside. xx

« Hi, does anyone know what plant this is please, it has fur on its stem.
It will be OK outside in summer only. I have had them pop up in my borders from where squirrels have taken from bird tables & buried them
I grew one of these squirrel sown ones on in a pot, inside, but it came to nothing, never flowered or did much except get green leaves and I eventually lost interest & it died off
I have them in the same category as growing avocado from a stone, you can but apart from curiosity there is not much reward
