can anyone recommend a climber for trellis work at the top end of a north facing garden which is also exposed to the wind. Nothing too rampant, with some feature of interest - flowers or interesting foliage. the border in front of it tends to be mainly reds, orange and yellow shades.

I think a passionflower should do O.K. I have one growing in a shaded spot facing N.W.

Maybe a Carolina Jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens), as long as it doesn't get less than -15 deg C there.

It's happy north-facing, and Hydrangea petiolaris looks attractive all year: leave the white flowers after flowering as their "dried" look is really pretty. I cut a few off and they seem to last forever indoors (in a dry vase of course)!

How do I say thanks?
