Saw this beautiful Acer in a friend's garden yesterday, but he didn't know its name (said "Morrison's best"!). There are so many similar ones, but maybe there is an expert on here who might know? Thanks.

Yes, it does look like A. Palmatum Seiryu … many thanks again for your guidance Klahanie 🙂.

Your welcome Sheila. I am sorry but I don't associate the picture as a Seiryu - I had one. Your picture shows some variegation which Seiryu does not have this time of year- it's plain green and it grows straight up in a vase shape.
It's difficult to say from the picture.
Enjoy your day. Judging from your last blog and picture looks like your weather is great.

Japanese Maple, but which one?

Hi Sheila
I am not an expert but generally, it is a Variegated Acer palmatum dissectun.
As you say there are few similar available.
Hard to say, but try to search on the general group nae which will eliminate many other Japanese Maples.
Hope you will eventually find out.It is an interesting one.
