Switzerland
After much googling I need to ask experts. I recently saw 2 small evergreen bushes with, instead of needles, 4cm long-ish green cylindrical foliage which drooped in people's gardens. They were beautiful and so unusual. And of course, I didn't take a photo. This was in Switzerland but not very high up-around 1,400 feet. Anyone any idea what I might have seen? Thank you!

Thanks for your suggestions - no, these both have needles and my mystery plant doesn't. Instead, its green things were perhaps more like green, rather thin, cigarettes - I do wish I'd taken a photo!

Nothing really jumps out as a suggestion. ?Pittospernum?

Have a look at Pinus strobus. That is a conifer with long green dangling needles.
Or were the leaves on the unknown shrub proper leaves? In which case how wide were the leaves?
