Houseplant--Cissus Antarcticus
Many years ago I used to have one of these and was very fond of it but never see any for sale now. Does anyone know why it seems to have fallen by the wayside, at least around here?

Thanks, Bamboo. I'll just have to keep looking then! I'm surprised though because it's such an easy, good-tempered plant with lovely shiny leaves.

I had grape ivy when we lived in Canada and it grew like crazy....I did read recently that supermarkets and DIY outlets are a good place to find it as lots of nurseries don't seem to stock it, as you've found, Penny.
Hope you manage to get one....I agree they look magnificent in a hanging basket. Good luck!

You're right, they are very hard to find - I wanted the Grape Ivy, Cissus rhombifolia, took me 3 years to find one, and then only one, lurking quietly in a display, looking a bit sad. Houseplants are subject to fashion, I'm afraid - I've been looking for Fatshedera too, and haven't found one in 5 years. Seems that any plant which climbs and needs support is out of favour.
