Smelly moth balls!
A few years ago we bought a chest of drawers. Happily filling it up with my clothes, the next day opened a drawer to be assailed with the smell of moth balls. So being allergic to them I have since used the drawers for papers, photos and the like.
I would love to be able to use the chest for clothes now. Does anyone have any bright idea as to how to be finally rid of the moth ball smell?
It would be very much appreciated indeed!!

Thanks Meanie, might give that a try.
Just found a really novel way of washing the kitchen, utility and bootroom floors.....flood the place! Left tap running with plug in to wash mince pie tray and forgot! Oops, lucky we didn't go out!

Lulu - that is sooo twentieth century!! Get with the times like I did - shut the washing machine with a bra strap caught in the seal AND go out!! It tore the seal.
Worse still, she got home before I did!!

Put some charcoal in the draw Lulu, this will absorb the smell, its much used in Hospital/Hotels to get rid of bad smells. 2 small pieces should be enough? replace if required.

Can't remember how I know this fact, but try freshly ground coffee, when it's dried, in shallow bowls and close the drawers firmly for about 3 days!

That washing machine was more trouble than it was worth Lulu - about a year later I tiled the kitchen floor. I measured it first adding extra for the tile and the cement. But because the concrete wasn't level I'd spaced the tiles out in various places so the whole floor was even. Naturally, it wouldn't go back in when it was finished, so it had to be replaced anyway!!
