my cordyline has fallen over sideways,the stem hasnt broken does this mean its dead?

I would prune just below the bend, and wrap the remainder in fleece so it doesn't get any more frost damage.

No horticultural fleece which you get from a garden centre.

Not sure Jackie...has it just uprooted or the stem bent over. If it's the stem, it sounds like its dead from where the bend is. In Spring prune it back and you may see it shoot again.
