Myrtle
I have been given a young myrtle bush, about 2ft tall. Do you have any advice about position and cultivation please? Do you think it would survive against a north-east facing fence?

No, I don't think it will survive a north east facing position, Penny - these shrubs aren't terribly hardy, and need a sheltered, very sunny spot, out of cold winds in the winter, to have a chance of surviving. Plant out in March or April, not before, and harden off first. Otherwise keep in a pot and move to shelter when the winter hits.

Thanks Bamboo. I had an idea they were a bit fragile. It's going to be difficult to find a good spot so I think I'll keep it in a pot as you suggest.

How do I say thanks?
