Hi!
I have half a dozen apple trees in my garden that I inherited in a rather overgrown state when I moved in just over a year ago. I had done a bit of investigation and found that the optimum time to prune was between October and December, unfortunately, circumstances meant that this was not possible. Am I going to do any lasting damage if I prune and cut them back now?

Don't cut any young growth out. Be drastic and cut back large branches from the middle of your trees, only one or two from each tree, you can balance with taking out more next year. Paint the cuts with Arbrex.

How do I say thanks?
