Hi, has anyone grown "pink" daffodils? This is the second year for mine - they are pale "lemon" with "peachy" colour trumpets! Could I make them more pink nxt year ie: by adding ericaceous compost? would love to know, thanx, jeanette

No the daffodils you have will remain the colour they were bred to be. If you want specific 'fancy ' coloured ones you will need to buy bulbs. that are those colours.

A couple of years ago I put cut up pieces of beetroot in the pots of some daffs as an experiment to see if I could change the colour. It did not work !

It's a shame, but many plants don't turn out the same color as their promotional pictures--and bulbs are among the worst. Down with Photoshop!...Okay, okay....Down with Photoshopping seedsmen!! : /

Jeanette have you talked to the supplier? pink pride should have a very definite pink trumpet, pink charm only has a rim of pink on the trumpet but neither of them should be lemon yellow. It is possible the dealer in Holland, where 95% of the 'fancy' narcissus come supplied the wrong bulbs to the supplier. Whom did you buy them from?

Hi moongrower, dug the original pack out earlier - it does say you can return if not wot you expected - but I should have done it after their first flowering season! too late now, luckily I like the colours they are!!
thanx for the tip, bear in mind in future, I like having unusual (not common or garden lol!) :-D
