I have a rotting apple tree root about 1-2ft underground. Is it safe so create a 50cm raised bed over this root to grow vegtables, particularlly strawberries. Worried incase of disease or fungus from the tree root. Thanks

It should be fine - the biggest risk in these situations is honey fungus, but that wouldn't affect your strawberries anyway, it attacks woody based plants such as trees and shrubs.
