Can anyone tell me the best way to take a cutting from ivy - currently growing very well in hanging basket to hopefully plant in my window box - I only have a patio and plants in pots.

Possibly have a delve around in there you may have some already layered, very easy to propagate.julien

i cut bits off mine, strip the lower leaves and put them in a glass of water on the window sill,they root really easily.then just pot up after about 3 weeks.

Easiest way is to layer the shoots - this means pushing parts of the growths down into soil and holding them there - you'll find the stem puts out roots wherever its in contact with the soil.
