My neighbour has one growing up her north facing wall and it is vigorous and flowers superbly but it took at least three years to flower initially.

i had to cut part of ours down as a lot had died , i also pruned some branches that had grown away from the wall too much. and will expect to wait a couple of years for it to achieve the splendid blooms we saw in our 1st summer here.dut it's a superb plant and worth the wait.
