Hi there,
we used to call it jack in the hedge when I was a kid.
Its pretty, but a devil to get rid of.

It is an important food plant for certain butterflies. I always let a few grow near the compost heap and in odd corners. I pull them out before the seedpods burst.

Hi Bernard, we called it 'jack by the hedge' too, and yes it is wild garlic mustard.

Thank you all for your responses and I think I'll save a couple of groups and watch them carefully. Thhey are attractive aren't they.

That's what I'd call it, but common names tend to vary. It's a weed though....
