My husband has built a wishing well but it is very shaded what sort of plants will thrive.

ferns and hostas will be happy in sade and will go well around the well, if you see what I mean :o)

The well is about 3ft square 3ft deep, rather bigger than I thought. So it will need a few plants.

We have a Wishing Well & have planted Aubritia which now looks fantastic trailing over the side. We also have a small Willow next to it which is now growing over some of the roof. Enjoy!

You don't really need much in there, Elaine - one large Hosta would fill that space in no time. If you want something colourful for the summer, busy lizzies, begonias, fuchsias, pansy and lobelia all flower well in shade.
