Trillium seeds which I bought today on a garden visit to Cluny gardens.

When I sow these ,do I mix with grit or perolite ?

And do they take along time to germinate?

Answers

I would sow them now, Scotkat, no point in keeping them. They will be from last years flowers and collected June/July. You might want to soak them overnight and then plant in a gritty compost. They could take a few years to germinate and even longer to come into flower!

according to a grower at Harrogate they may take up to 5 yrs to flwoer from seed.

I have corms that still havent produced leaves in 2 yrs but they do have roots. again this is normal apparently.
