I planted a lilac tree last year and the blooms were beautiful. This year there is significant growth, but as yet, no blooms. The tree looks healthy and bushy. Why are there no blooms ?

Lilac trees are infamous for growing leaves and roots only for a couple of years after being released from "durance vile" in the nursery pot. As long as you do no more than sparse, selective pruning for balance, it will eventually settle down and get a job. Feeding with a high phosphate and potash food occasionally will speed the process.

No I didn't prune it as I wanted to give it time to settle in. Any suggestions ?
