its also an old headache remmedy i believe . a weed is realy a plant in the wrong place so get rid if you dont like it or keep it if you do . personaly it looks quite atractive to me . it does spread very easily i must add .

I rather like this - have grown Feverfew for years, but mine is the yellow version. Used to be classified under Chrysanthemum, but I think is now under Tanacetum.

I hate the smell of that stuff. We pull it out as soon as we see it.

You can use the leaves as a treatment for migraine - put one or two in a sandwich if you can bear to. The taste will blow you away! Incidentally, weeds are plants you know! Its only a weed if you don't want it.

Dorothy an old lady i once worked for and who was 93 would come down the garden with her sandwich and take leaves of the feverfew put them in the sandwich and munched away, i tried it and thought it was awfull, another common name for this is stinking nanny, julien.

I would steer clear of trying unknown remedies. There are substances in feverfew which can prove fatal if taken by people already on blood thinners. On a less serious note it can produce stomach upsets, mouth ulcers etc. I am all for herbal remedies but as prescribed by someone who knows both the herb and its side effects and also the person taking it. Google 'feverfew side effects' to find out more.

I wouldn't be consuming Feverfew either - its supposed to be an old headache remedy, but can have very dramatic side effects in some people if ingested. It was always a medicinal herb rather than something edible.

now come oni just said it USED to be used as a headache remmedy stick with the parcetamol lol .

I have also read it can cause miscarriages if ingested so definitely one to beware of. I have lots of it in my garden as it is easily removed from areas where it is unwelcome and provides a splash of yellow through the winter months as it is evergreen or yellow depending on which one you have. I bought my first one as 'Batchelors Buttons' at a Church fete.
