I have a red robin that has long new branches growing from the base.Can i cut these off and replant elsewhere? I am a beginner.

You can take them from the trunk, but you get better results by taking leaf node cuttings - so cut below a leaf is and remove that leaf. That area is where the root will form.

Yes, you cut the new growth off and put them into damp 50%compost 50%sand pot. Keep damp and place in a shaded place in garden. Rooting will take a few months.
