Hi I bought a climbing rose from the garden centre I planted it out side and it had three stems, the main the biggest grew to about 3-3.5 ft when some one bent it and snapped it from about halfway up, can I joined the stem back together? What should I do to the stem to ensure it carries on growing? Thanks in advance

True, grafting usually only works if the cuts are clean, and it's done within seconds of the cut!

If its snapped right off, bin it - with a pair of sharp secateurs, trim the broken stem back to a leaf joint, making a clean, angled cut downwards from the joint. It'll grow from that leaf joint, so make sure it's facing the way you want the growth to go - choose another leaf lower down to cut back to if its not.
