Hi, I hope this isnt a daft question but we are replacing our garden fence soon and I wondering if the old fence panels could be shredded and used as wood chip for under a kids tower playhouse instead of disposing of the old fence and then buying wood chip ? Thanks.

No. The bits would be too sharp.

Agree with the others - shredding the wood just gives you shredded wood. You need playbark (normally pine trees) under kids playhouses.
One thing you could do with the old fence (if it is only yours and not shared with neighbour) is to use it to make things in the garden such as raised beds and compost bins.

Ouch - splinters! Its not the same kind of "wood". I think they use bark chippings for play areas.
