Lilies or Weed? I have this lily lookalike plant growing next to my lilies. It is taller than the normal lilies and initially I thought they are lilies but now they have grown quite tall with smaller flower pods than lilies and I am thinking what are these plants. Please help identify these plants and should I get rid of them?

I think they are lilies that have grown from the dropped bulbils (tiny bulbs on the stems) dropped from your original plants. This has happened in my garden, too. The new plants can be quite different from the originals, but I don't quite know why.

they are definitely lilies but as to which ones not sure. Leave them to flower. which lilies did you grow last year?
the bulbils will be the same as the parent, as the bulbils are clones produced asexually. seed that dropped and grew could well be differnt to the original as seed is from sexual reproduction.

They look like they have a deal of Martagon Lily in their ancestry.
