I have a tree in my garden which was commonly called a 'pineapple tree' as its yellow flowers smell like pineapple. Its finished flowering just about and has got out of shape and I would like to know if I can prune it and when.

Hi, its a Cytisus battandieri, if you want to prune it do it as soon as possible or you will lose next years flowers, I prune mine every 2 or 3 years seems to make a better plant. (see my photos) . :-)

Could you put a photo of the tree on for us to identify,please. Then we'd perhaps be able to help with the pruning. It's probably a bit too early to prune just yet. Annie (Cumbria)
