I have two tree ferns, both of which were prepared for winter the same way.
One has yet to produce leaves, although there are three nodules in the crown which are getting very, very slightly bigger.
Is this life? or am I kidding myself. Will keep watering it anyway.
Has anyone elso experienced this?

I was at a palm centre yesterday and they had many tree ferns that had not yet produced fonds, they where for sale with some that had their fonds on show. If you feel in the centre and can feel the hard 'knuckles' that are the unfurled fonds, then it is a live and kicking. If it is soft and rotted then thats not a good sign, obviously. :)

Thanks for your encouraging responses.
I also contacted the Eden Project, and they said something to the same effect!

They should have fronds by now if they have had their trunks sprayed regularly. They used to be transported as ballast in ships and can spring into life at anytime. My guess is that it will be OK.
