I have a japanese maple in a pot. It survived the winter and has been regularly watered and fed through the summer but its leaves are very small. Have I been overwatering perhaps. It's in a corner of the garden which is partially in shade but could move to a sunnier spot if that would help. There's not enough room in the garden to plant it unfortunately.

If its been in the same pot for a year or more, it may well need repotting into a larger container with fresh compost.

Any chance of a picture because Japanese maples do have fairly small leaves and a picture including something to compare it with would be a great help.
