Hello everybody - any ideas on 4 ins brassica seedlings (before planting out) doing very well one minute then cleanly chopped off about an inch above ground. Some missing but one was left lying on ground with no sign of chewing and none of the usual slug signs.
Is it cut worm or mice or something I've not thought of.

Rabbits or pigeons?

Thanks for the ideas - the damage seemed too subtle for rabbits but it does make sense as there are signs of rabbits elsewhere.

Looks like the rabbits then. I've had the most extraordinary plants chewn to stumps by them. Ice plant, Euphorbia, verbascum. They just LOVE Dianthus and geraniums... Lots of bulbs (not daffs), lobelia, aubretia. Something actually edible like cabbage doesn't stand a chance :-(
