Do you mean cardiocrinum Steve? These bulbs are monocarpic once they have flowered they die but leave lots of offsets, babies, in the soil which grow on and flower in turn.

Hi moon grower
The bulb is a crinum bulbispermum one of the amaryllis family of bulbs.should it flower for years?

Yes it should flower for years but if it got too cold last winter that may be the problem it can only take -8˚C below that it tends to die.

I have bunches of criniums (the ordinary white ones) that came with the property, and not all flower every year. They don't like being moved, either.

How do I say thanks?
