Can anyone help ID this plant. I initially thought Gladioli but the flowers are quite different.

Its is a Yucca (Filamentosa) also known as Adams Needle

My mother in law had one in her garden and it grew enormous and had such hard leaves with lethal points on the end which could poke an eye out - so watch out with children around.
