The most common way of propagating Beaucarnea recurvata is by seed. The seeds germinate at 20ยบ C, looking much like grass or onion seedlings, until they start to develop the swollen bases. The species can also be started from cuttings, but cuttings may never develop the swollen base of seed-grown plants.
