My outdoor tomato plants have suddenly got a brown mold on them in the last two weeks, just as the fruit is ripening any ideas

Sounds like tomato blight, Tony. I think you can still eat the fruit, but you'll have to take the leaves off and burn them. Have the tomatoes got brown markings on them too? It's been a funny sort of warm, wet summer this year, and that't ideal for blight. Perhaps someone else has some better news. Annie

Sorry, Annie, but I can't disagree with you. You need to take the healthy fruit off immediately, Tony, and destroy theplants straight away - particularly if you still have plants that appear unaffected by the blight.
