Allotment advice. We are about to take over our first allotment and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good book to buy. I was thinking I could do with something that will tell me what I should be doing each month. Thanks.

My came in fab condition, still in it's shrinkwrap. It's a lovely book to look through. Easy to follow, you'll enjoy it, then you'll want something more in depth. He He

At the moment, I'm reading Christine Walkden's No Nonsense Vegetable Gardening Book - that is nice and straightforward. Got mine from The Works for a fraction of the retail price.
Amazon is brilliant for books though, normally get mine from there. I'm tempted now to get the RHS Allotment Book Grannyb - not that I have an allotment but just a veg plot :0)

Done it! Tis ordered - hey, you should get commission from Amazon, lol.
Got one "used but like new" for £5.19, plus postage. It will be nice to read through the Winter months.

I have been looking through my David Austin 'The English Rose' which cost about £8.00 used. It's such a lovely book, the only problem is it doesn't have scent.LOL never mind smelly vision what about smelly books?
Nigel Slaters books also Amazon used, such good value.

These books should have 'scratch and sniff' lol.
I only have David Austin's rose catalogue - their roses are so expensive, arent they but lovely at the same time.
I've ordered some shrub roses for delivery in November from Apuldrum Roses and J Parkers too :-)
