I usually go for x2 depth of the size of the bulb.. I left mine out in the soil the year before last and they were good but whether they have survived the snow this winter i will just have to wait and see. funny enough it was RHS advice i was following. id bought the bulbs at Harlow Carr RHS garden and got advice on the day.
