At the moment it is very happy living outside, against a wall, producing lots of new shoots and even comes into bud, then the buds drop off. some leaves, even young ones, turn yellow, and drop, there is no sign of any insects ,disease etc.it is approx 2 metres.high. as i live in Spain, its watering requirements are different to the UK. It overwinters indoors. It is not potbound.Help por-favor!!!

hi again Bamboo! I know it does like humid conditions, and it is with other plants which like the same.It is also next to a urn full of water. But i suspect you are correct in the hot,dry conditions we have.It doesnt get any direct sun. Last year it did the same, not as much as this, but it was in a different area,do you think it needs a boost? i have fed it once a month, but it looks so damn healthy!! so why the leaf fall?? sorry to be a pest, no pun intended....

I completely missed the part about the leaves dropping - but if there's no sign of infestation or disease, I suspect the conditions just don't suit it - or else the leaf drop you're seeing periodically is just normal leaf loss, particularly if the rest of plant is healthy and growing.

This plant likes high humidity and plenty of water when its flowering - even if you water it well and often enough, if the air around it is dry, the flowers will fall before opening. Not sure how you can increase the humidity around the plant other than standing on pebbles in a large tray, much larger than its container, and keeping the tray topped up with water frequently. Misting would help too. The other thing is, its not that keen on full sun, prefers bright but indirect light. Think humid jungle...
