I am going to pot two Red Love apple trees in large pots because my garden is too small to plant them in. (They are the red all the way through type of apple). I have filled two large pots with home made compost but need to bulk it up with more than compost. Any suggestions on what earth to use and should I add bonemeal in the pots to help the rooting process or leave well alone?

I would use John Innes No. 2 soil based compost. Firm it down by gently treading round the container which should be big enough for the life of the trees.
