For some reason I can't upload a photo:( we have been away for a week and my hosta leaves have all gone bright yellow,,they were lush and green a week ago:( can anyone tell me whats happened and if theres anything I can do? We have had no ground frost.Thankyou.

It is what Hosta's do in autumn, the leaves will flop right to the ground soon and you can cut them off. Your Hosta will regrow good as ever in spring.

Great minds think alike. I used to think they were evergreen as well = bit of a shock when the lovely leaves turn yellow. Have found that slugs and snail avoid zinc or and lead planters and your Hostas can grow beautifully in them.

They are just dying back for the winter. They will come back in spring.
