My white one flowered well before Christmas - the magenta one is way off flowering yet. Yours looks very healthy! :-)

Goodness, that was quick Spritz. A friend of mine had 'Christmas cactus' that used to flower at Christmas and again at Easter!!

I got this very same one for Christmas off my Sister...it is just opening up now like yours..Do I feed it now?

'Christmas' cacti will flower several times in the year if treated to a drought/damp period after each flowering.

Aah MG, that is interesting! Pimpernel, mine just get fed about once a year, along with all my other house plants. I'm afraid mine all thrive on neglect!

Bloomer, I've actually got three! Two are M&S (about 10 years old) and the third (the first one in flower) I call Jenny after my friend's grandmother (called Jenny) which was given to me when she died. It was her pride and joy as it managed to get one flower per year on it. When I got it, it was horribly pot-bound and in very poor heavy soil. I re-potted it in a mix of soil and compost and it now flowers every year, averaging 15 flowers each time.

Sounds as though they are pretty robust,Sheilar..mine does look a little pot bound, but think I will leave it to get used to its new surroundings for a bit..They had racks of them at a garden centre, but none had any labels on..just all gift wrapped for Christmas, but as they were only £2.50p each, I thought b.....r the expense ! Lol.

They flower according to the conditions you give them. If they get the correct conditions in spring or autumn, they will flower then :o)
