This started growing in my garden last year, it looked lovely when it started to flower with small pink flowers in july and august, then they started to reseed and grow every where, now this year they have reseeded all over my garden, they look nice in small doses but i'm not sure if its a weed? can anybody help. Thank you x

If it smells like cat's wee when you pull it up it's definitely herb robert and not too easy to get rid of.

I know He can become a nuisance but every garden needs one or two, if only to see Him throw his seeds into the next garden, each one propelled by a watchspring device.

It might be Artemisia lactiflora "Ghizhou"....it will grow very tall and the stems will be a very deep purple (looks black) the flowers are tiny and white...looks very frothy and pretty.... the foliage is amazingly similar but if the flowers are pink...it's not A. Perhaps you might check out the Artemisia, it's a terrific plant. very hardy...clump forming...spreads outwards by offsets...very tall and linear...nice as a backdrop. or in the back of a border.

That looks remarkably like Herb robert, Geranium robertianum. It is a lot of a seed weed.
