Primula, something else desirable, or just a weed?

This appeared and probably came with the dozens of plants my friend gave me from her garden, she does grow primulas but isn't sure whether this is a young primula or a teasel or a weed. What do you think?

The leaves do seem to have little spikey bits so it could well be a teasel! Thanks, I wanted to grow them for the birds so it's a nice surprise!

I have these at this stage and it is a teasle. weird flowers in whorls that i find fascinating.
dry the seed heads and spray silver/gold for xmas.
or use them to make hedgehog ornaments.

I would go for a Polyanthus, the larger garden type of primrose.

I'm pretty sure now that it's a teasel - the spines on the leaves are a good indication. Thanks for all your help!

Looks like a primula to me or could just be a Verbascum Chaixii though the colour looks a bit pale for that.
