Sorry, that sounds a bit abrupt. I've never known lavender to self-seed. Maybe the flowers are sterile. I've never noticed the seed for sale either. Buy a plant, or beg a cutting from a friend.

I'd buy plants- they soon grow so smaller ones are economical. Dont forget to cut them hard after flowering but not into dead wood.

I had a lavander that self seeded. It took ages to get the seeling larger that 3 inches - ended up binning them all. Buy a plant :)

Both Botanical Interests and Lake Valley, here in the States, offer seed of a couple of kinds of Lavender. In any area with a short growing season, though, plants are much more reliable, plus the only way to get true named varieties.

I've grown Lavender from seed and now have a very healthy 4-year-old hedge with cuttings taken every year to maintain it when I have to remove older parts. I brought the seeds from Britain with me when we moved - sorry, can't remember whose they were, but I remember the seeds germinated easily. Hope you find what you're looking for. :o)

Buy a plant, Kev, and propagate from cuttings - easy peasy, and a LOT quicker. I got 50 new plants from my first attempt.

I've grown it from a packet of seeds. It's easy to grow. I've got a few nice little bushes now. The plants I buy never seem to survive.
