WAVEY LEAF TULIPS.....

essex, England

can anyone tell me what this is? and if it is a problem? i have several different vareities of tulip dotted every where and i noticed a few days ago that some of them have wavey leaves, i have never seen this before, and it has happend quite recently - last week they all looked fairly straight and normal. it is not just resricted to one varety, they are all different, and it is not all of my tulips, just the odd one here and there. the plants and flowers/buds all look healthy enough. any one have any answers for me? thanks

Majeeka - they look perfectly healthy - it's probably just the varieties of Tulips you have. I like the wavy edges! It gives them character!

hi all, no spritz don't think it is down to variety as i have others of the same variety which are straight, and this has happened to more than one type, but as i said not all of them! but they are healthy looking so hopefully just a wierd and wonderful freak of nature. Phil LOL - if i had some puff i think i could find much better uses for it than the compost heap!

Hi Majeek - did you have any joy with T&M re your diseased tulips? My stripey tulips are now in flower - they don't look too bad in fact. Do you want me to post a picture? Sarah.

not really Sid, they just blagged and blundered as usual, gave up in the end, i also bought 3 other variety of tulips from them which have not come up at all - and i know its not anything in my garden or anything i have done to them as i have several other types of tulip that are lovely and they have been treated no different. i just will never use them again - and if any of you out there are contenplating buying from THOMPSON & MORGAN - my advice would be DONT!
