I have an orchid given as a present. It is in a tiny pot and I would like to know if I can re-pot it and what soil/compost I should use. Will potting compost be good enough. It has two stems but all the flowers on one stem have dropped.

You need to buy Orchid Bark for potting on also DON'T cut the flowering stems off, just prune to a top bud.
At the bottom of the page you will find the A to Z click on O and go to Orchids, it is very helpful.
