As already said Magnolia's do not like being moved. Given that you have moved it to a place between a hawthorn hedge on one side and conifers on the other I do not see how it can possibly survive. Frankly the soil is likely to be so impoverished that nothing can grown there! Poor Camellia! Suggest you get moved!

Magnolias like deep, humus rich fertile soil which doesn't dry out all the time, with some shade. Sounds like you've picked a bad spot, and, given they don't like root disturbance, caused problems. You don't say when you moved it - if it was last year and its showing no signs of life, it may be an ex magnolia... scrape back bark with a fingernail in places - if its brown and dry beneath, its a goner.

OOps poor magnolia even!

The first impulse is; the soil is starved of both nutrition and moisture.
The other is; does it get the morning sun?
What I am thinking here is; that it might be in a frost pocket brought about by the adjacent Hawthorns and Conifers.
All of these things are not ideal!
Is it in leaf?
If this is the case it may have been frosted and the morning sun has ruptured the leaves.
